WHO has released its annual World Malaria Report for 2022, which contains updated burden estimates that quantify progress in the global fight against malaria. The report shows malaria cases are continuing to increase whilst deaths slightly decreased in 2021. A continued strengthening of the global response, risk mitigation, resilience building, and acceleration to R&D are necessary to eliminate malaria.
